  • Comments: well supported. great volunteers, plenty of water and ice, very vocal support along the routes, enough massage tables. not as big as an Ironman-branded event but managed as well, i think. i appreciate being able to get "water, no top" so i didn't have to stop.

  • Comments: Overall a very nice race. They did a very good job of putting it on. The parking situation (and lack of shuttles) was less than desireable, but otherwise a solid event. Some of the nicest volunteers ever. I might go back and do this race someday. Who knows.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race and felt it was a good course. The best thing was the amount of support on the course from the volunteers, both mentally and physically. I also appreciated the effort put into the food/drink available at the finish -- to me, that's where you are hurting and where you really want shade and a good selection. I even saw plenty of race help asking athletes at both finish/massage, etc. what they could bring over to them. Now that's service. The covered bleachers for spectators are a great touch. One thing I think can use improvement is the pre-race meeting. It was in a hot tent (bring in fans!) and correct information wasn't really available. For example, the presenter said you can't accept help from impartial official race volunteers or you would be disqualified from awards which isn't true. They did correct that race morning, but still that should be available at race meeting. A lot of thought obviously went into this race and it shows. I would definitely

  • Comments: Enjoyed venue, well organized yet felt like a relaxed environment. something for everyone: aquabike, half, full distance and relays. Pre-race packet race number tattoos were great; sped up entry in transition. Plenty of post race food, nice tech finishers shirt and medal. Would return again. Stayed to watch a friend finish her first IM. The last athlete crossed finish after 3am; very nice of them to allow the participant to finish. Award ceremonies at Marriott was inspiring.

  • Comments: While I'm not unhappy with my time, I hoped to be around 5:30. I want to try another 70.3 race and put a dent in that time. I now know what to expect. As for the race itself, it was run very well. Its a great venue for the race. Spectator friendly and flat. I'm not sure about making Redman my first 140.6 race (given the four loops on both the bike and the run).

  • Comments: This was an amazing race set up. Perfect from start to finish with absolutely no issues at all. I would recomend this to anyone. Also from my wifes point of view, she had a great time, good food, stands for the spectators with tons of shade, music and nice people. This race went off without a hitch.

  • Comments: Excellent, well-organized, well-executed, and non-pretentious race. Was great to be out there alongside the full IM racers, though I'm glad I wasn't doing the full IM. (Don't know if I could mentally handle 4 loop bike and 4 loop run courses.) Police and volunteers at every intersection and business driveway on the route, so I felt very safe. Covered bleachers for the spectators at the finishing line was a nice consideration. Expo was pittance compared to IM-branded events, but that was fine with me - the RedMan gear they had was nice, and I'd rather have an affordable race than the branded one. Temporary tatoos for body marking was very cool. Finisher shirts were nice. Food and drinks afterwards included a nice variety of snacks (pretzals, cookies, candy, granola bars, peanuts), fuits (oranges, grapes), PB&J sandwiches, and drinks (water, Gatorade, various sodas, chocolate milk, EAS MyoPlex).

  • Comments: Great overall race. I would really recommend it to somebody looking for a half iron distance race late in the season. If your looking for a full though I'm not sure about it. The full had to do 4 loops on both the bike and run. But I had a great time.
