  • Comments: SetUp Events puts on very professional races, and I would recommend anyone to go out and race in their series. Yea, some of the AG prizes are subpar, but hey, were not out there to win a trophy for everything we do, right? I will be back again next year :)

  • Comments: I had no expectations for this race. I was incredibly happy to be healthy enough to participate. I had fun! Lots and lots of fun! I really missed racing while I was healing and I just enjoy the experience so much. I love being able to talk and joke with other athletes, I love hanging out at the awards presentation with my friends. It makes all the training so worth it. I am hopelessly addicted. This was my last triathlon of the season. I was 3rd overall female and first in my age group. I'd say I went out with a Bang!

  • Comments: The volunteers were very rude to us at packet pickup. one threatened to kick me out of the race because they didn't like that i asked alot of questions. they were short and triet from the get-go. The refreshments afterwards were miserable as well. all they had were goldfish and chex mix and oreos. no fruits or bananas. it was disappointing. the awards for the winners were more race t-shirts. how shitty is that.

  • Comments: My only gripe with this race was the lack of real food. There were chips, pretzels, cookies and fruit, but no protein!! I had a blast racing as relay. We all cheered for each other and had a great tem effort. We placed 3rd out of 8 teams. I think we were the only all female relay. It was lots of fun!

  • Comments: Lessons learned: 1)warming up is very important, but not so much that it will cause fatigue later in event. I only warmed up a little for the swim, and the first 500m was tough since I couldn't breath good it was a little panicky. It was almost like I was hyperventilating. Maybe it was the cold air too. The thought of drowning might have crossed my mind ; ) It's funny now. 2)Start with a Sprint to learn and enjoy yourself more if you can. 3)Plan your event ahead of time. register early, arrive early, maintain your equipment. 4)You will probably perform quite similarly to how you train in terms of time. 5)When you eliminate the leisurely transition times the rough becomes a lot tougher 6)The course is probably about as tough as you think it is from the race reports you read, and from the course profile. 7)Encouragement and camaraderie are great, and really add to the environment. 8)Dropping some pounds would probably help a lot for this kind of race. Maybe my shoulder injury

  • Comments: I entered this race for fun. I didn't care about where I placed or what my overall time would be. I wanted to do one last tri and run the entire 10K. I accomplished my goal. And my effort was good enough for second place in my age group. That was icing on my big, fat, race cupcake!

  • Comments: This race was great - though it was a little difficult for me to get to since it's really out in the country. The course was definitely the hardest that I've ever raced, but it was good to go out on a difficult race. Volunteers were great at all the water stations - plus they were handing out hammer gel at mile 2.5 of the run. Awards for Age Group winners were not plaques, but screen-printed arm warmers which is really cool and different. Something that I'll definitely wear with pride.

  • Comments: Definitely a race I want to run next year in a much more serious manner. Finished off my tri year in a good way. Met some interesting competitors including Pacemaker Ironman, who, as you would guess, runs triathlons despite having a pacemaker. Met my season goals as per introduction to this sport although my times weren't as good as I'd hoped. Will spend the winter training mostly for running and swimming. Did 4 races without injury or penalty. Learned more about the geography of SC as I ever have and learned foremost that to enjoy this sport you must have a sense of humor or those steep climbs to transition or those uphill runs right off the bike, or those piranha swarm swim starts will just ruin your fun. Thank goodness I could look at each one of those course situations and laugh and think, "that's something I'd do". Congratulations go out to dcwade of this website for finishing first in her age group for this race. Good Job!!! Props to the school kids who manned the hydration stations
