  • Comments: They had to change the venue from previous years. All things considered they put on a good run. I was shocked by the number of individuals and teams that ran this race. A few things that bothered me: No water on the course at all. Since it was an out and back 1 aid station would have been sufficient. You would pass it twice! Not too hard to figure that out. No electrolyte replacement drinks post race. They had water, monster energy drink and miller lite. I love beer as much as the next guy, but without water on the course I would have given an arm and a leg for some gatorade. Not enough volunteers on the course. Some of us had to run a little farther because the course was confusing at times. Nobody handing out penalty flags. Guys finishing ahead of me in the overall that completely skipped obstacles after the turnaround. Don't get me wrong... I had a blast. I will do this again next year, but a few changes will make this an even better event.

  • Comments: This years venue was certainly worse than last years. No music, only six kegs to satisfy the whole crowd. Phillip and I were happy to get one beer each before they ran out. Probably my biggest beef was that there was no flyover (last years was so cool!) and there were no freaking wave starts. Solo Males, Solo Females, Team Males, Team Females and Team Co-Eds all started at the same time which was a clusterfuck. The timing chips were a nice touch but the bio data wasn't entered correctly and everyone is either a M0-99 or a F0-99. I'm not sure the new base commander cares much about doing this event right.

  • Comments: For what it is, a race put on the Marines in the mud, it does so very well. They had vitamin water and music and BEER afterward. Pretty damn champ if I say so myself.

  • Comments: I will make this race an annual event on my calendar. This was way too much fun. Who knew that I would grow up and cherish the same things I did when I was a kid...mud and dirt. Its like when you are a kid and all you want to do is play outside...that’s basically all I did today...played outside for a while, with a bunch of grown ups! Also, two things I cannot forget to mention. 1) What do you call a woman in a tank top, cargo pants, and boots who is completely covered from head to toe in mud? FREAKIN HOT...that’s what! And 2) after I finished the race it was time to hit up the ever so lovely port-a-john to, shall we say, dehydrate. I walk up and open the door to one and these words come out of my mouth..."HOLY CHRIST WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN HERE?" The inside was a mess, it basically looked like someone had a very bad time at a Mexican restaurant the previous night...it was absolutely repulsive and made my stomach turn, and there was crap everywhere. I have done a lot of races
