  • Events on time?No

  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Post race activities? Below average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: The good: great organization and great communications leading up to race. Swag is good, especially finisher medals. The bad: not sure why they had sprint swim first and then Olympics had to wait until all sprints had finished swim. On a hot day, not good for the Olympic athletes who stood in wetsuits for 40 minutes waiting to get in water. Post race awards are poor for age group winners and take too long to get underway.

  • Comments: There are plenty of nit-picky things I could say about the event organizers (you have to sign two additional waivers when you get there in the morning despite already signing USAT and Active.com waivers, they cut off t-shirts 10 days out from registration so if you wait to see what the weather will be before signing up you get nothing, races often start late but this one didn't, the pre-race meeting is right when you want to warm up, packet pickup stops an hour before the race so if you run a little late you are screwed, awards are a long time after the race so winners have to stick around for over 2 hours afterwards, results take forever to post online and normally aren't up for a day or two), but other than nit-picks this race was awesome. It was probably the best weather I have ever raced in and the course is a gem!

  • Comments: Everything started on time. No problems with directions and plenty of volunteers at the corners. More than enough aid stations for the 5k run at the end. Had one at mile 1, mile 1.5, mile 2. Great race and venue!! Can't wait until the Endurathon in July and then race 3 in August!!

  • Comments: We were kept informed with a lot of info posted on Facebook, the website and e-mails before the race. Nice volunteers throughout. Even though they were also running a 5K, 10K, Duathlon, Sprint and Oly the same time, it was very organized. The enticement of beer after a race does nothing for me so I'd leave that out and keep registration costs down. Otherwise, nice venue.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too hard

  • Comments: The only reason I place I think the event could have been organized better was for the "bike in' and the finish lines. They were not marked very well and I almost missed my turn into the finish area. There were 2 cones marking the turn but it was not clear what to do in each location. Volunteers were somewhat close but sometimes they weren't real helpful with what to do. I do not want to take away from them because they did a great job for the most part, It was just the 2 areas that I felt there were problems.

  • Comments: I am giving this race an average because even though I got regular e-mails from the RD, they really didn't provide much useful information. I did not find out what the course layouts were until a couple days before the race giving me zero chance to check them out. Also, the race site was tough to find since I could not find an address on my GPS and the map showed the location, but not how to get there from, say, Indy. And right near the finish line, there was no one to direct me and I was essentially alone at that point. I actually came to a stop to figure out which way I was supposed to go. I am glad my wife was down near the finish line and yelled to me to make a left turn and get off the road onto the grass. I think with some more events under his belt now that he is on his own, things will get better. I most likely will do another event that he puts on.
