  • Comments: Some people complained about a lack of organization, but I think it was run fairly well. They ran out of swim caps which isn't a big deal for me since I took a few extra swim caps with me, but honestly, who runs out of swim caps?? I think the volunteers did an excellent job of instructing/directing during the race and provided lots of positive comments at each turn.

  • Comments: This is a really fun, no frills race put on by the college triathlon club. They have a lot of energy and enthusiasm, which makes for a great race atmosphere. And, they order lots of pizza.

  • Comments: I put 5 on mental effort because I realized I was in DFL and seriously considered bailing on at least 8 different occasions. Glad I didn't - kept reminding myself that my first Olympic (and only 2nd tri ever) should have a goal of finishing, nothing else.. Sorry for everyone who waited around for me to finish. I would totally do it again, besides, I have a score to settle ;)

  • Comments: The Purdue Triathlon club did a good job with this race. I like the race and hope to be able to continue to do it.

  • Comments: This was the first time I've ever put together a good all-around race. Solid swim, bike, run. Good transitions. I feel energized by my success and am ready to start training for next season. Imagine if I actually stick to a training plan. I might actually be competitive at one of these things some day!

  • Comments: The Purdue Triathlon Club did an awesome job on this race!! I was skeptical going in because of negative past reviews, but these kids blew the race right out of the water! They did a super job!! If I'm not doing a half-iron at this time next year, I will definitely do this race again!

  • Comments: Hmmm, well. I went to pick up my packet on Friday afternoon but they didn't really have things ready. I signed my waiver and got my cap but that was it. I still had to go back to packet pick up on Saturday to get my shirt, by race number and my chip. Not a big deal in the long run, but a bit of an annoyance. They made up for it with great on-course race direction. I was a bit worried going in because there are so many twists and turns on both the bike and the run but they had volunteers everywhere! Not just at turns either, but also along straight-aways at little podunk road intersections that I cannot imagine anyone thinking they should be turning down.

  • Comments: This is by far the worst race I have ever been to. The organization was so bad it was to the point where it was dangerous.

  • Comments: Question to anyone else who did this... there's no way that was 6.2 right. I know I was moving okay, but there's no way I was running sub-9 min miles. No swag at all... not even socks like the website advertised (you had to buy them). And with a USAT sanctioning I would have thought they might have brought it together a bit, but this seemed even more disorganized than last year. But for $25 I guess I can't really complain.

  • Comments: Happy to be alive. My first olympic distance so it was good just to finish, there was a pretty high DNF rate. Lots of room for improvement so I have something to build towards next season.
