  • Comments: I liked the race course. Maybe minus the sand traps we run through. Not real happy about the swim, but not much you can do. Awards were done in the silent award fashion. Just check results and pick-up your award. Liked this because awards cememories just take forever. Awesome to watch the pros race.

  • Comments: Great race, hope to do it again next year. Drive time from home was about 2hrs. Great to watch the top ITU triathletes including Jarrod Shoemaker, Brian Fleischman in the draft legal race after the Fl Great Escape. Hope to do this race again.   • Comments: I was not that impressed with the organization of this race. 1 - they should have held the swim. 2. There should have been more water stations. 3. There was supposed to be an elite wave and a prize purse and there wasn't. 4. They didn't allow people to transfer to the elite race in the afternoon. 5. Awards and results were messed up at first. I would do this race again if I was heading down to FLA for a training camp during the same time period, however I don't think I would just come down for the race. I wanted to go to race against elites and see how I matched up against them on the swim and the bike and unfortunately that did not happen.

  • Comments: I thought that NTC did not put a lot into this race. I thought they made the correct decision on not doing the swim. The bike course was OK. The run was terrible. The course with Sand and roots at start was terrible. They could have done a better job on the course but I felt they were more interested in getting the pros started. If you finished by 1 hour and 45 minutes they called your name as you came across the finish line. The announcer left to go introduce the pros on the beach. Their race was starting at 12:00. No one did any announcing after he left which I thought was a shame. The food after the race was not bad. There was no awards ceremony I guess they didn't think it was important. They put the awards on a table and you checked the tally sheet and if you were a winner you went up to the table and grabbed a award. I thought that was terrible. Overall the race was not even avg. I would not do it again or another race that NTC host they did a terrible job.

  • Comments: It was a lot of fun. I loved getting to come down to Florida to enjoy some warm weather and race in February. I don't know if I'll do this race again next year, but it definitely was enjoyable.

  • Comments: Well organized and staffed. Plenty of volunteers to direct you. Only downside was transition being closed until all bikes were in. Only a problem because of not being able to additional clothes after the race. Would definately do it again.

  • Comments: I managed to qualify for Alcatraz! Slots 1 and 2 in Age Group are given a spot. That was my goal going in and so I guess I can only say that I attained what I needed to do. This race is a great way to start off your season (for anyone from around the area). The race was really organized and you got to race against some top notch athletes (this was my first being in a tri-race with an elite division). Weather was perfect this year. I would highly recommend this race to anyone next year.
