  • Comments: I really enjoyed this half marathon! The first half is worth doing because of the Golden Gate Bridge, but I actually thought the second half was a lot more fun. There are more runners on the course, there's more crowd support, and you get to finish at the main marathon finish line, so there's lots of excitement. And the course itself wasn't as boring as I'd expected -- there are only about two miles toward the end that wind through industrial areas, and at that point you're in the get-this-over-with zone, so scenery isn't so important. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this race.

  • Comments: well-run and organized but really lacking in aid stations and finish food and activities. Most 5ks I have done have more going on at the end than this did. Even at the real end for the full marathon, not just the first half finish. Nice course.

  • Comments: This was my first half marathon and my first leg of the California Dreamin' series. Despite the huge number or runners, the event was very well organized. Since we stayed walking distance from the race, we avoided the stress of driving to the event. Once again, the historic landmarks made this a memorable first half Mary, not to mention running over the Golden Gate Bridge. I would definetly do this race again. In fact I am choosing this hilly, challenging course to be my first full marathon.

  • Comments: San Francisco Marathon is a top-notch event. Considering how much they're doing at once -- a full marathon, two half marathons and a 5k -- everything runs very smoothly and on time. The course for the first half marathon is tough but beautiful and it's fun running with all the marathoners. My friends said the course got pretty crowded on the bridge, but I was in an early wave and didn't have any issues.

  • Comments: Very well organized, but there were just a ton of people. The porta-pottys all had lines. Even in the middle of the race. Luckily I never had to go. Absolutely beautiful run course.

  • Comments: Not a whole lot of support on the course. The stations were fine, but there was really no music or organized cheering.
