  • Comments: It's a really good race. Well-run and organized. Good food--House of Pizza! Lots of sponsors and great prizes at the end. Great announcer who is very knowledgable and funny on the spot. It's local for me, so lots of friends and a familiar course.

  • Comments: overall a very awesome experience. my second duathlon ever (dousman '07 was my first). very happy with how the race went for me. this is going to be in the running for a yearly event for me in the future! great way to start the season for me and a pretty good confidence builder too!

  • Comments: Apple is a quality race. Jerry McNeil of Minnesota Tri News poses the possibility that it is the most competitive small field (400) duathlon in the country. There were 3 Worlds slot per AG here so a lot of out of town racers this year. The past 3 years of racing Apple has me with 3 AG podiums including one win and two 2nd places, plus 2 Worlds slots. I'm gonna have to work on my bike to catch Todd Firebaugh next year. He finished 6th at Worlds last year in our AG in Italy. Minnesota Tri News had a post-race blurb about the race and posed the possibility that Todd is the best 45-49 duathlete in the country ( http://minnesotatrinews.blogspot.com/ ).

  • Comments: Apple is always a well run race, with lots of door prizes. Dave actually won the Quintana Roo carbon bike frame in the Gear West prize giveaway. My bike split was nearly 2 minutes faster than last year while most of the top 15 had splits fairly similar to last year. So, the new bike and more bike experience is paying off. Because I took 2nd in my AG I need to decide whether or not to take the slot for the World Duathlon Championships. Luckily we didn't need to make a decision on race day, so we have some time to think about it.

  • Comments: Duathlons make me a little nervouse. Swimming is probably my best event and running my worst. But, I did enjoy this race and will probably do it again.

  • Comments: This was my first Apple Duathlon and I thought it was an excellent race. It was the site of a national duathlon championship in the past - so the distances were valid and the event was well run. Will go back for sure. Got a nice stone apple with inscription for AG win prize. Left empty handed from the gear giveaway raffle.
