  • Comments: Meeting Dan and his wife was great. He is as nice as he is fast. the sky is the limit for him. I expect BT will see big things from in the not to distant future. I was also really impressed w/ this RD and venue. Only it's second year and first at Lake Nokamixon. What a venue, beautiful lake, closed roads for the bike and a flat scenic, shaded run. Well orgnaized too. My only knock is they didn't have as much water as advertised and cuda used it given the heat. Definately recommned it and I will go back. Overall a good training day, not necessarily a great race day. Nontheless, I had fun, learned a lot about myself and met another BT'r (that's always nice). An eye opener and good final tune up for Timberman. I've still got work to do.

  • Comments: The Race itself was good. Had a closed course for the bike, lots of officals on the bike, but none that I saw on the run. Lots of give-aways and lots of food afterwards. The sweatshirt that you got with your race packet...LORD! I think a homeless mass in Boston in January would have turned it down. It was hideous. I think if you want people to promote your race by wearing your race shirt and having people ask about it, make it so that they WANT to wear it.

  • Comments: Despite the tough run and the shift of start time, I thought they did an outstanding job especially considering it was a first annual event. Close to 700 people with the sprint and OLY races. Good food (didn't run out for us in the OLY race), great set of volunteers, tough but fair course (Great lake for swimming, the start time shift even saved us from too much heat, great prerace packet (with pictures) accurately showed you what to expect and a sweatshirt vice a T-shirt. Firefightes with the ice towels and spraying down finishers were great. Only complant, get more potta potties, 7 for 700 folks doesn't cut it.

  • Comments: Good experience with first OWS; have got to figure out a way to solve the run after the bike; felt way better than the Philly run, but wasn't all that much faster; will try to just push it from the beginning next weekend in NJ.
