  • Comments: A solid local race! I think it's maxed out at 2000 runners, though.. I really hope the Striders don't try to expand the field next year. It was a little crowded at times but thinned out. Lots of volunteers, two water stations - perfect. The post race food looked good but the line was SUPER long and I wasn't going to wait in it with a hungry toddler!

  • Comments: A good race, except why was there no clock at the finish line? Weird. I don't wear a watch when I race so I had to wait until results were posted that afternoon to see how I did. As a bonus this year, the t-shirt was actually really nice (last year's was awful). And I finished early enough to not have to stand in a long line for post-race food. I am always amazed by the ability of people to pound beer and hot pasta at 9am after the race.

  • Comments: Always a well-run race...but they only 12 porta-potties for like 1500 runners and about 80-100 people were still in line when they called everyone over to the start line. They also ran out of beer pretty quickly, but no big deal since after all, it was like 9:30 in the morning. :)

  • Comments: Pretty big local race, 1000+ people. HoCo Striders did a good job organizing it and Clyde's did a great job with the post race chow. Lots of fruit, bagels, etc plus some hot food (looked like pasta and soup). Also had beer, but 9:30 on a Sunday seemed a little early for that. HoCo police provided a lot of support keeping roads closed. HoCo Striders posts the results based on clock time and chip time separately and don't list things by age group. Not sure why but no big deal. (My time above reflects chip time.) Definitely will do this again and see why it is a popular race.

  • Comments: First time doing this popular local race and I was excited and tried not to think about the hills. I carpooled to the race 45 minutes early and met up with my group, the STARS (She Trains And Runs Strong). I ate my usual PBJ on whole wheat light English muffin with a cup of PowerAde Zero in the car. After waiting a few minutes for everyone we ran an easy 1.25 mile warm up. I kept thinking now I’m one of those people I thought was crazy running before a race and tiring themselves out. I warmed up and my legs felt good. I started the first uphill mile at 12:25 and was able to maintain thru mile 4 but after that I got really bad side stitches and had to slow my pace and breathe thru it before picking up the pace again. It was a hilly course but mile 4 was that everlastingly loooong hill up route 108. I took no walk breaks not even at the water stops. My chip time was 1:19:30.35; Gun time was 1:22:02.90. I beat my last 10K (Marine Corp 10K) by 13 minutes and on a much more challenging

  • Comments: Very well-run race, awesome post-event buffet with wide variety of food & drinks. Hills were too hard for me but if I had trained more I would have really loved the course- good rolling hills that weren't too steep and good downhill recoveries.

  • Comments: Great race. Super volunteers, plenty of water, good amenities and great post-race party. The kids loved the fun run and we will probably all do the race again next year.
