  • Comments: I love Callaway Gardens. Great place for a race. In my mind, this race will be hard to top. The gods were in agreement, the planets and the stars were in alignment, at this exact moment, life was perfect. I have never enjoyed a race more than I did this race. I have never felt truely prepared for something as I did today. I felt I did my training justice today. I am still smiling at my triumph. Met several BT'ers today as well and enjoyed the weekend with them and their families. Shoutouts to 1111, Atl_runner, and their two sweet girls; HornJM; and tritiger90 and his wife!!!!

  • Comments: I enjoyed the race. The grounds at Callaway Gardens are great. The timing system problem wasn't really something that could be controlled, but making sure there is enough water on the course and Gatorade at the finish would be good. The transition area was a bit strange with the median through the middle of it. I had a great race and I'm glad I stuck around to receive my award.

  • Comments: Despite the T2 screw up, pleased w/result. I think I can get faster in all three parts! I hadn't raced a distance shorter than 1/2IM in two years and was really happy to re-discover how much fun these sprints are. I'll be back.

  • Comments: Swim distance was less than advertised. I do NOT like the wade starts in waves. Swimming in Robin Lake is great, though. The transition area could be organized better with rack assignments and reduced length. But at least they did have enough racks this time. As I said before, I love the bike course. The race director described it as a "technical" course. Something like six 90 degree turns per loop. The run course was good too. Overall a fun race.

  • Comments: was some delay in tallying results. would have been nice to have some way to time the seperate segments. I signed up for Clydesdale group but would have placed in exact same position if I has went same age group. Might go age group in the next race.

  • Comments: Good race but they should have been better prepared for the post race. Food and beverages ran out leaving alot of folks wanting. Well as I thought due to them loosing me at registration and me dropping the ballot in the wrong box they have me listed as an age group and not Clydesdale. Even with them doing that and me starting 2 minutes behind the guys in my age group I still placed 34 out of 45 guys in my age(35-39). To me not a bad race at all.

  • Comments: This is a great race for beginners! The course is well marked and it's not too hard. It's pretty flat so it's easier for the bike and the run. The only thing I'd like better is if they had chip timers. I'd like to know my exact splits. I only have my bike time from my computer on my bike.

  • Comments: Last year they had approximately 150 racers at this race. It grew to more than 550 this year, and they weren't quite prepared. The wave start was a last minute change. That made compiling the top-three in each age group results for the awards ceremony time-consuming. They were about 45 minutes later than planned. Of course, the volunteers were AWESOME.
