  • Comments: awards went to only top 1st finishers...not too much of a big deal. I would have been more disappointed had I stayed in 3rd and not 4th

  • Comments: I will definitely do this race again. The venue was great with a beautiful setting. I was half expecting a Finisher Medal as I had seen these at other races but can't complain about the nice etched Pint glass for my celebration beer.

  • Comments: I think this race was a serious shock to me and woke me up about this. Being my first open water swim, I realized I have A LOT more to learn and a LOT more mental prep to do for the rest of the races I have this year. I also am humbled by my training. I need to push my training a little bit harder. The hills of this course are SERIOUS! DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM! It's a very well run race, very fun, and very beautiful. This race will probably be on my list of races every single year. It's a fun race with serious challenge. Definitely a do not miss race if you live in the area.

  • Comments: A well run and organized race, but since I am still a rooking, not much to compare it to. I enjoyed the course, both bike and run, around the lake and through the woods.

  • Comments: my only complaint is the awards ceremony was way late. they kept saying it would start soon and it took about 45min. i had to leave right after my award, which i HATE doing, but had to get to my daughter's last softball game of the season. made it the last inning and was able to see her play a bit of 1st base. i guess it's better than nothing.

  • Comments: This was a good race for my first triathlon. I'm very glad the run course was as easy as it was as I had quite a bit of difficulty with it.

  • Comments: Great race. From my perspective the organizers did a great job, I didn't notice any issues with the short-course. An earlier start might have helped avoid the heat issues that developed; 8:00 for the first group to start (8:45ish for the last) is a pretty late time considering we're racing in the August heat. Thanks to all the volunteers.

  • Comments: For first triathlon, it was ok. I was disappointed in my run and to a certain extent my swim was more difficult than it should have been. Overall, I finished and learned what I need to work on for the next one.

  • Comments: Very fun race, bike was more than I expected and although I didn't perform as well as I'd have liked to, I can't be too disappointed w/ the numbers. :) I'll probably do it again next year, but the price WAS pretty steep at $85 a head w/ USAT insurance or whatever it was. Only downer was the tragedy that I heard about after the race...
