  • Comments: My first half iron back after 8 years of inactivity. My goal was to finish and not worry about ranking or placing. The course matched my training courses to a "T". It was a great race with extremely well run and helpful volunteers. I truly loved the course though some real rough roads on the bike. The run course was one of the most challenging I have done in Tri though fair. I would truly recommend this race for someone who wants a challenging half iron!

  • Comments: I thought the organizers did a good job with the event. I really liked the location of the event. The water / aid stations very well placed for both the run and the bike. The only complaint would be the swim start where both men and women were in a single wave for the half. This was my first half distance, so was disappointed as I chose this race because it was smaller.

  • Comments: Overall, I am pumped that I completed my first half - when I started this last year, I couldn't run a mile straight. Now it's time to get in shape so I can race one next year. For the event - Nice race - I would do it again. These smaller races are just my style.

  • Comments: Traffic was a bit of an issue on the bike course. Perhaps a Sunday race date would resolve.

  • Comments: One random thing that impressed me the most was the womens winner. I had made a comment to my dad how many really fit older women there were in the race. The womens winner was 51 years old, finished in 5:19, and fnished 12th overall. Very impressive. My compliments to her.

  • Comments: Nice course, but lack of police/volunteers to ensure racer safety on bike course. Took 21:44 off of last years time. Swim was ~5 min faster (no wetsuit last year though), bike was ~7.5 min faster and almost 9 min off the run. Despite wearing a wetsuit, my T1 time was faster too. Of course, I really only did 1 month of swim/bike training for last years race.

  • Comments: Interestingly, I just took another look at the results... it looks like my AG was the most competetive. All 5 of us finished under 6:00. The only AG that was faster was F20-24, which only had one person who took the overall female win finishing under 5:00. Even the AGs 30-34 and 35-39 were slower/less competetive! Sheesh!

  • Comments: Overall, a good event. Should have started at 7am so the run didn't go into the hottest part of the day but... If you're looking into this race for next year take your training seriously. This is a hard race!

  • Comments: Good course. Good organization. Good post-race goodies. Tough day. I'll be back at some point to try to get some revenge on this course.

  • Comments: Hilly course and I suck at riding hills. My over all time was much slower than I'd hoped. That being said, it was my first HIM and I completed it!!!
