  • Comments: I really enjoyed this. I probably won't do it again because today I feel like I was beaten with a crowbar, but I'm glad I did it at least once.

  • Comments: An Amazing Day! I had my family to cheer me on at the finish line this time! I could hear my wife and kids yelling, "Go Sean!!!" and "GO DADDY!!!" AWESOME & AMAZING! I was so happy that I couldn't stop smiling, even though I was in total pain! Beautiful fall sunny day! The best day ever for a 1st marathon! I could feel my father watching over me from heaven as I crossed the finish line. I know he would have been proud! I feel like it was so important to have my children there so that they see and have a role model for fitness/health. So many children nowadays have such poor health and eating habits that it scares me! Too many kids these days are overweight and eat nothing but processed foods, carbs, and sugar. It’s funny cause McDonalds was one of the sponsors at the Marathon and they’re responsible in part for getting me so unhealthy last year. I ate there 3 to 4 times a week back then and it nearly killed me! At least they were only handing out bags of apples and not cheese burgers…

  • Comments: Best organization of any Denver Marathon that I have ever run. I did run one in 92 or 93 (4:20:00) on a whim back in my fat days... In 2003 Lilia and I ran this race. It was for all intents and purposes our first marathon and the start of my racing and now Ironman training. I ran that race in 3:31 or so... Now all of these years later, I have become a better runner and this race sort of brings it all full circle. Next up... Ironman Arizona. God help me.

  • Comments: Very good race overall, though not QUITE as flat as advertised. Many of the roads were rather cambered, and I was often not able to run right in the middle where it wasn't as sloped - I think that contributed to my leg and foot soreness earlier in the race than I expected.

  • Comments: 1. If I'm going to pay $85 for a race, I want a decent t-shirt, not some 100% cotton, piece of crap that was meant for a man's body. This race should be providing men's and women's specific tech tee's! 2. When I grab cups of water I like to squeeze them shut so I have a drink spout and don't spill water all over myself. The water cups were plastic and sometimes broke when I squeezed them. Paper cups would be better. *Accoring to Julie's Garmin we actually ran 13.35, but I will enter this as 13.1 anyway.

  • Comments: Drink stations were a bit farther apart than I would like and not at regular intervals(only 3 in the first 6 miles). It was cool today, so it wasn't bad, but it could have been a problem for me if it was hotter.

  • Comments: Though a few things I wasn't thrilled about it was all-in-all a good race. Plus I was spoiled with the Marine Corps Marathon as my first mile.

  • Comments: It seemed like people were waiting in huge lines for the end porta potties before the race, when the central ones had only 2-3 people waiting. I mentioned this to a few people waiting in the long lines, but they just kept waiting in the long lines, so I gave up. I think if a volunteer, or anyone more official than myself, could have let them know they didn't have to stand in those lines, everyone could have gotten through more quickly. Getting into the start corral was a problem also...there were very few openings and people everywhere...spectators and racers. I tried to go over the gate, like some skinnier girls ahead of me had, but the gate didn't quite seem sturdy enough for me to climb over:) There was basically nowhere to go until the race started. I crossed the start line about 5 minutes after the actual start. Overall a fun race and I would do it again.

  • Comments: Needed more volunteers. People were walking on the course while the "elite" runners were coming through. No water/gatorade at the relay points - that was frustrating. Bag drop (as advertised) for the race did not exist. No shuttle for relay participants - very difficult to get around and prevented me from getting to marathon finish line to enjoy the festivities there.
