Winter Eating: Healthy Choices For Triathletes
With a decrease in my training, and an increase in all the comfort foods, is it possible to eat healthy during the winter months?
"What happened to all the blueberries for my smoothie?"
"Why are the tomatoes for my omelet so expensive?"
"A nice slice of melon would go great with my pancakes!"
Yes, we are all a little sad that triathlon season is behind us. And with winter weather forcing us to change around our training routines, summer eating is definitely not forgotten. Seeing that grocery stores provide a limited selection of quality fresh fruits and vegetables, you are now forced to be creative when choosing healthy food options. Not to mention how incredibly hard it is to eat healthy on a winter budget!
Nonetheless, in addition to all the yummy comfort foods that keep you warm during the colder winter days, it is important to maintain a healthy diet of a wide medley of fruits and vegetables. [.....]
