Xterra Schiff Scout : Official Thread

Why, the rain will keep away the giant black wasps!!  The year I did this race, 2008 I believe, I got stung in the a$$ on the bike, and my friend Mike got stung in the head several times on the run. 

I will make a suggestion that if you are even a halfway decent swimmer, DO NOT wear a wetsuit.  Deep Pond is very - very warm this time of year and I overheated right away the year I did it.  Also, the swim is so darn short, the time it takes to take the suit off in T1 will cancel out the minor savings the wetsuit will give you over such a short distance.  Ideally, if you can get your hands on a bib-john that would be the best route to go as your upper half of your body won't overheat; the bib-john will float the thickest densest bones in your body - femurs; and it's really quick and easy to take off in transition. 

Prepare for some sopping-wet shoes the last mile of the run.
