Master 1690 Metro NY Area | Subject: RE: Fighting Artichokes - September End of Summer Challenge I ran today for over an hour which is my longest run this year. Though I once ran a marathon it was long, long ago. Now running is my weakness and I am slow as molasses (I have several issues including weight and knee issues). But I'm working on it I hope to do a 10K next month and a half marathon early next year. Edited by losta 2009-09-17 9:41 PM |

I am away from computer the last few days , good thing is i got some rest and started training again so my september challenge totals are again moving upwards . Zuma beach is as you know simply gorgeous country side. The race went great and i had a decent swim and a smoking bike 3rd out of 30+ in the division , the 2 faster guys were on tri bikes & i have a roadie . LOL My run was decent for me but about 1 min/mile off the fast podium pace . I have done this race 5 years in a row and ran a 3 + minute PR . So i placed 8th out of 30-40 in the clydesdale + division.

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Fighting Artichokes - September End of Summer Challenge Hill training promotes the development of lower leg and quad strength; a good hill training session combines the benefits of weight training with the aerobic and anaerobic conditioning of running or cycling. In addition, hill training strengthens you mentally; completing these tough workouts will help you deal with the physical discomfort of racing.

Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: Fighting Artichokes - September End of Summer Challenge I think that I have come down with H1N1. Felt like crap the past 2 days and I haven't been able to work out. I feel a little better today then I did yesterday so hopefully this is pass soon and I will be able to get back on track. I set my goals very aggressive (had to make every workout this month) for extra motivation so I will see if I can make up the time at the tail end of the month. |

Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: Fighting Artichokes - September End of Summer Challenge run run run! that is all I seem to be doing lately...today was hard for me to get motivated, but I did run...again! I am above in my goals for the month...EXCEPT... I do need to make sure to get my two measly swims in before the end of the month....seeing I have not been swimming much lately....someone (one of you artichokes) may need to give me a gentle shove in the pool! fair warning! |
