Subject: Heart Rate Monitor - what do you recommend?
I am going to purchase a heart rate monitor and I'm wondering what everyone else recommends. In addition, I want chest heart rate monitor to connect it to my iphone. What HRM do you recommend and why?

If you want a chest HRM that connects to your iPhone you need to look at Wahoo Fitness

I have the Wahoo BlueHR. Seems to work well. I compared it by wearing my Ant+ Garmin at the same time as I wore the BlueHR (yes, that was a bit uncomfortable) and they matched up, so that was good.
