Swim
Comments: Good swim overall but I should have hugged the right side of the lane instead of the left What would you do differently?: read above Transition 1
Comments: Ok so the transition was close to .4 from swim exit. They had an area for shoes. Many people didn't bring shoes I guess that was a mistake on there part. I also removed my wetsuit prior to running. Must have worked because I was 9th overall for men in T1 and that includes forgetting to take my running shoes off and having to stop before running out of T1 to leave them. What would you do differently?: Not forget to take the shoes off but other then that I kicked butt so really nothing. Bike
Comments: Ok so before I get into this I stopped to fix a flat. Not mine... some dopy kid who didn't know which end of the tire lever to use. He was calling for someone to help him and I was the only person evidently nice enough to stop. Really if you don't know what you are doing stay off the course. Yeah sure I could have blown by him up the hill but then I would have felt bad. If I believed in Karma and Tri Gods I believe I am on the side of good. That being said I would probably do it again I'm just too nice. What would you do differently?: Not stop to help that kid... I mean come on!!!! who doesn't learn how to change a frigin tire? well my time should theoretically be 5 minutes faster. Then again the if I didn't stop the Vengeful Tri Gods may have spited me with a flat of my own. Transition 2
Comments: Ran down the wrong isle the pavement was pretty chewed up and I don't runn well without shoes on. I really need to figure out a solution for that. What would you do differently?: go down the correct isle Run
Comments: I had a pretty good run. The drink station was in a word horrible. It was slightly before mile 1 and mile 2 at a kind of fork so they were handing out water going both ways. There was also one by transition for the second loop OK not thrilled about that but not world ending. Two huge problems I always carry my own nutrition for the run because I like power-bar gel. However they had nothing if you didn't bring your own. That's kinda rough on a oly but whatever I had mine so it was OK. The bigger problem was there decision to use little dixie cups. this was not enough water at all or even close. What would you do differently?: I guess bring water with me on the run Post race
Warm down: broke down transition What limited your ability to perform faster: helping Event comments: Definitely needs work they were practically ordering us to break down our transition right away because they needed the room for parking. The water on the run was a big problem in my opinion. Last updated: 2012-07-30 12:00 AM
