Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

Pretty sore from sitting on my a$$ at work all day, so I took 800mg Ibuprofen and sat on a bale of straw while I waited for the event to start.
Event warmup:

None.
Run
  • 48m 15s
  • 2.9 miles
  • 16m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

They had water stations at every mile last year, but only one at the halfway point this year.
What would you do differently?:

I found it harder to do a 5K after work than it is to run an entire sprint triathlon on a Saturday morning. I might also eat a little better a few hours before the race. I was completely exhausted and ran out of steam about 4K in. Surprisingly, however, I posted a better time on this 5K than I did at last weekend's Troika Tri.
Post race
Warm down:

Hot tub at Benny's for 20 minutes, and then 630 yards in the pool.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Too tired after working all day and should have eaten more.

Event comments:

It was too hard to do after working all day. I just ran out of steam.

In November of 2000, I noticed that I was losing the feeling in my toes. The sensation traveled up my body and within a week, I was nearly 80% paralyzed.
