Swim
Comments: Underwater cable to mark course so sighting was not a problem. What would you do differently?: Swim a little harder. Transition 1
Comments: Really sloppy What would you do differently?: Need to be better organized. Bike
Comments: Had to use porti-potty. After than the ride felt good. I was passing a lot of people and pedaling downhill (free speed). What would you do differently?: Need better bike handling skills in traffic (safety issue). Transition 2
Comments: Didn't try anything fancy - just unclipped and ran in my bike shoes to transition. What would you do differently?: Little faster getting shoes off. Better organized (had trouble finding number). Run
Comments: Needed to use porti-potty again (drinking too much?). Did 4/1 run/walk for the first couple miles and gradually increased the running until I only walked the aid stations. Put ice in my cap to stay cool. It felt good. What would you do differently?: Run more and walk less. I wasn't quit as fragile as I feared. Post race
Warm down: Walked a while. Refueled with bananas, oranges, and a protein drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Technique (swim), fitness and durability (run). Also a poorly organized transition area. Event comments: I loved the water, the courses, the atmosphere, and the volunteers. I would definitely do this race again! Last updated: 2015-07-19 12:00 AM
