Comments:

Over the mat and then a few steps to lane three to jump in. Saw many people slip and belly flop. Took my time and held on to starting block to drop in. Seeding and spacing seemed to be good as this is the first pool swim where I didn't pass anyone
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 02m 1s
Comments:

Slower than I would like 65/111. Was trialing a full zip bike shirt with short sleeves. Definitely appreciated the added coverage on the bike, and the sun protection.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. Think I have to accept slower T1 unless I want to swim in my top or go sockless

Comments:

Happy with this ride. Have been skimping on the bike due to HM in 2 weeks. Only 1 ride off the trainer so far this year.

Run
  • 24m 59s

Comments:

Right foot froze on the bike and thighs were pretty numb. Took two miles to loosen up.
May not have been a full 5k. Not sure how well my GPS does in the woods but I had the course at 2.9 and on graphic it was only a little off the course. Guessing 3 miles even given that I felt like I was going slow
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Chatted with some other athletes.
Got a stretch from onsite PT

Event comments:

Overall good race. Would like to see the Pool start be a wade and them to seed by Age group and swim time. Likely will do this race again in 1-2 years
