Swim
Comments: Really nice swim location. The water was clean and decent viability of other swimmer near by. Swung out wide on the first lap to avoid the crowd. Hit the bouy pretty good though. Likely was a little wider than needed on second lap. Caught a couple black caps in the open group What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Didn't swim much leading up to the event, and zero ows outside of races. Just need to train. more to improve here. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Overall faster than I expected. Net elevation gain but downhills helped more than uphills hurt. Roads were open to traffic but most drivers were behaved. Very little or no shoulder on most roads. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Sunscreen. Extra Butt'r Run
Comments: Got hot but was able to cool off a bit. Got to 80 during the run, and despite some shade I was cooked by then. Course design was such that it was easy to determine racers around you. Decent number of water stops. Post race
Warm down: Walked What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat on the run got to me and I start to talk myself out of pushing harder. Event comments: Have done a number of setup races in NC and have always found them to be very organized. This race was double marketed by Toughman and Setup. I felt like there was very little information provided via the website toughman website, but found some of it later on setup site. Knowing the logistics of the point to point earlier would have been helpful (getting from t1 and t2 or race day, on course hydration, and nutrition, water bottle exchanges on bike location) The site exclaimed this would be a wetsuit legal race but they never posted a water temp in the days leading up to the race. Had hoped for more of a big race feel for the price paid, and this felt more like your typical local tri. Although I very much liked the course and location. Last updated: 2017-09-23 12:00 AM

I've been using a level one BAA marathon plan with 2 bikes, and swims added in when I can. I have gone thru about 16 weeks. Short taper
Drove out the night before and checked bike in for the point to point race. Morning of I setup up t2, and then bused over to t1 and setup there. No water station there in t1, should have brought extra I guess.
