Run
Comments: Tried to keep the first 5 miles with HR under 150, next 5 miles z3, and then push the last 3.1 miles. HR was a little high, but was able to push the pace at the end. So happy to see Ocky & the kids 2 block from the finish! What would you do differently?: N/A Post race
Warm down: Found Paivi at the end of the finish shoot, then Ocky & the kids caught up with us. Chatted and cheered in Liinu. Bundled up in the extra clothes I had thrown in my gear bag & enjoyed the lunch from Buckhorn Exchange. What limited your ability to perform faster: Inconsistent training the last 6 weeks prior to the race. Event comments: This is a very well run event. After 17 years, the organizers have this one down to a science. The course is set for a fast race. They do a good job of creating a celebratory feel at the finish, with a live band & a pretty good spread from the Buckhorn Exchange. Last updated: 2019-04-15 12:00 AM

Cinnamon raisin english muffin with peanut butter & honey. Drove to the race start early to make sure I got a parking spot in the light rail station lot, and enjoyed my tea while reading. About 30 minutes before race start, I packed everything into the gear check bag and headed for the porta potty. Ran into Paivi & Liinu on the way, and was very happy for the familiar faces! Checked the gear bag with about 7 minutes to race time.
Tried to guess which start corral I would fit with, and shivered while chatting with Paivi.
