Swim
Comments: First section was a little tough. Choppy water, and I was super out of practice with a wave start. It was a little congested. Finally calmed down after the first turn. Then things mostly went smoothly. Felt fine the rest of the way. Glad I went with my clear goggles. What would you do differently?: More practice trying to draft off of feet. Transition 1
Comments: I should have worn my sneakers from the beach. I could have run through transition much faster. Bike
Comments: Mostly went ok. Did great with my hydration and nutrition. Did manage to lose a rear hydration cage/bottle. Next time I need to tighten screws before a race. Managed the pain in my foot and back ok. Stayed in aero most of the time. Transition 2
Comments: Sat down to switch shoes. I just about never do that. Probably slowed me down Run
Comments: Kept it nice and steady, and walk when I needed to. What would you do differently?: Not much. It went pretty well considering the heat. Glad I did a heat protocol leading up to the race Post race
Warm down: walking around, trying to eat and drink, packing up all my stuff, waiting for Mary to finish What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much. Maybe more consistent run training. Event comments: Mostly ok. Though some miscommunication with how the swim start would be, also they allowed headphones, and suggested people bring their phones on the bike course. https://my.raceresult.com/213498/results#0_872E1E Last updated: 2022-07-01 12:00 AM
