Swim
Comments: Happy with the swim, hadn't trained a great deal, swam well, probably my fastest ironman swim, but I think the course was a little long Transition 1
Bike
Comments: This was a lot faster than I expected due to being undertrained on the bike, just pushed pretty hard anyway What would you do differently?: Could have gone 30 minutes slower given bike fitness Transition 2
Run
Comments: Got off to a decent start, but got multiple bee stings on right ankle around 6.5 miles in, so walked almost the whole rest of the way, except managed to run in the last 3 miles. It would have been pretty poor in any case, but the stings gave me an excuse to walk. Just a long slog in the end, but in retrospect take some pride in finishing even with all the pain and swelling from the stings. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Undertrained a lot on the bike, a little on the swim, run training actually was decent. Bee sting incident on run cost me an hour or two in the end. Event comments: Good, well-run race, hot day Last updated: 2013-07-20 12:00 AM

Arrived in Boulder day before, checked in, got to reservoir pretty early on race day, ate bagels with almond butter and nutella as usual.
Not much, first IM with seeded swim, so settled into my slot at 1h20m
