Run
Comments: Went out too fast, and actually surprised myself with my first mile split. I didn't know I had that in me, but there it was. I knew I could do ONE mile faster than that, but not hold on to several decent miles after that kind of split. Age is having zero effect on me for some reason, and I'll take it. What would you do differently?: Who knows....haul a$$ and see what happens...it worked out just fine today. Post race
Warm down: I stopped running and walked to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Gravity...it's a bitch. Event comments: I gotta rate it on the lower scale, just because I got dicked at the sign up. I have NEVER been to a race where they have ran out of timing chips and numbers. Now the race has no reality to it. Every age group place is a sham, cause who knows if you were REALLY in THAT place or not? All I can do is judge it on it's own merits by my own time. My splits were great, I felt good, and could have probably pushed a tad more, if I thought it might do something for me. I wanted to break 34 minutes, and I blew that away...so yea for me. Hopefully they learned a lesson here and will do better in following years. Last updated: 2007-11-17 12:00 AM

Went to get registered at the High School gym 45 minutes prior to the race. They had ran out of timing chips and race numbers. WTF? I've NEVER even heard of that? They let me sign a waiver to run without paying, but told me I would not be eligible for an award. Again...WTF??? Whose fault was THAT? NOT MINE? Grrrr. Oh well, stop worrying about crap you can't control. Mary, Conor, my brother in law Brit, and his little boy Patrick, came to see me run...told them of the cluster Phuck...geez!
Ran a few blocks to loosen up the legs
