Subject: Beads with swim bike run on them

HI all,

Can anyone tell me where I can buy the cuboid beads with the symbols for swim bike run on them?

I have seen a bracelet that I really liked, with the beads in sterling silver, on plaited leather. It was gorgeous, but ridiculously expensive. I think I can make one if I find the beads. Does anyone know? A google search isn't giving me much.

Thanks,

Jac

Is this the kind of thing you are talking about?

Yep, that's exactly the one that I saw and wanted, but it's too expensive for me. I wondered if I could buy the beads only.

Any ideas?

I called my Mom - who, in the politest way I can say it, is bead crazy - and she is going to look for them, but all of her normal suppliers don't have them.  Many have charms like the ones below - but none of the square or rounded beads with the pictures on them.  She thinks they might be custom made (you can order custom beads but you have to buy them in bulk).

The bead type is a "charm bead". You will probably have to spend a lot of time looking at websites. Whoever made the bracelet had to have gotten the beads somewhere, or commissioned them to be made (that could be why it costs so much.) If you do find the beads, definitely post where you find them.

I go to bead shops with some frequency, so I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I find any.

Ooooh, the trisport ones are coooool! That will do for now!

Thanks so much to everyone who is going to keep an eye out. Perhaps we should go into business through this website?!

I'll keep looking too. In the meantime, I'll get looking for one on the trisports site...

Thanks,

Jac

My wife (bless her) found the individual beads here (scroll down the page quite a ways to see them):

http://www.mountainangels.com/cyclist.html

There are individual bike and run beads, and a "triathlon" bead that has all three symbols. Each bead is $16.

Hope that helps.
