Subject: Triad Triathlon? Anyone?

Hi there.  I was just curious if any of ya'll were racing in the Triad Triathlon at Northeast Park this upcoming Sunday?  Me and two of my fellow Team In Training tri-mates will be doing this race in preperation for the Wilmington YMCA tri in September.  This will be my first tri and I'm so excited/nervous/anxious!! Smile

We rode the bike course this morning and for the most part it's flat, but there are a few good hills and one MONSTER hill at about mile 6.20!! (and there are a few dogs that came out and chased us too!!). It's a nice ride over all.

We couldn't find the trail to run on but, it's a nice park with a nice pool! It should be a good race and a good learing experience for my first triathlon!!

I'm interested just not sure if I can do it yet.  Where/when is the packet pickup?  I could not find any information about it on the race website.

I'm also considering doing the Triad Tri. From reading your posts, I should work on riding faster so I can save some skin from the attack dogs! Good luck during your first tri I'll be wearing the "Tricredible" uniform! Hope to see you there-Skinny Jeff

Contact: http://www.offnrunningsports.com/to get info on packet pickup. Last year we picked up packets at their store in Greensboro on Friday afternnon.

I'm doing this race as well.

Packet pickup is Saturday from noon-7pm at the store or Sunday morning from 6:30am-7:30am.

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had fun today ~ especially the mini hurricane we had! They did a great job with the event and I had a great time.  It was very rewarding to finish my triathlon.

I met either you or one of your friends in the transition area.   I was number 284, so whoever it was had a number close to mine.  I enjoyed the race, though I knew going in the run would have to be a jog/walk due to an injury.  Thought they did a good job adjusting and recovering from the storm.
