Hi All:

This "Arizona" forum is Great.  How did you/(we - as Arizonans) pull off our own Forum?

Just wanted to post and introduce myself.  I just returned to Arizona in the last couple of months after a 4-5 year stint in Illinois for graduate school.  Yes, I am glad to be back in the always sunny and warm (okay - who we kidding HOT) weather here in the valley.

Anywho, been a BTer since the early, early days of the site - grad school and studying for the boards (in IL and AZ) just really hampered the leisure time.  It was challenging enough to get in the training along with studying and extracurricular activities.

Hope to get out and meet everyone at a training swim, ride or run, or a social event.

- Tim

Welcome home Tim,

You definitely joined the right group. I just got back a few months ago after 5 years in Indiana. I hated it the whole time.

Anyway, the ESCKTC usually gets together every weekend for at least a ride. The location and distance varies. The level of each person varies even more.

I look forward to seeing you out there.

Tim - welcome back - I see you're in Peoria.  Great to have someone else on this side of the 17!  Keep an eye on the forums for group workouts - most are at Saguaro Lake, Gilbert, or in Tempe, but lately we have been able to put a couple of workouts together on the West side.  Since you're 'new' to the area, if you have any questions about local happenings, places to bike, run, or swim, or just want some general banter with some great folks, you have come to the right place!

Thanks!  So I've found Lake Pleasant Road/Parkway, Happy Valley Road out to Vistancia and a few other places for biking, but always looking for NEW routes.

Running and Swimming are another story.  Haven't found any good paths, or such for running on this side of town.  More importantly, any good places to get in laps at an outdoor pool, and any good OWS spots on the west side?  Swimming laps is boring enough - having to do it inside at the gym is almost intolerable, and also I haven't found a good OWS spot!!

Here is a master's class that I've gone to. I just paid a $5 drop in fee. The coach is good.

The best place I have found for OWS swim on the west side is at Lake Pleasant near the four lane boat ramp at the North entrance to the park.
