So, among other things such as tax breaks to racetrack owners and special arrows for kids doing archery (I'm not kidding), the Bailout bill also included an inclusion for businesses to assist employees who cycle to work by giving them funds to buy/maintain the bikes for the employee.  Sweet...I wonder if I can convince my boss a Cervelo P2C with Zipp 808 wheels is my commuter bike of choice?

Near the bottom, Section 211 - Transportation Fringe Benefits to bicycle commuters

Thing is, I'd actually take the time to pedal the 35 miles each way when the weather is warm enough if there was a safe place to cross the Missouri River in KC.  (There isn't.)

I already submitted my request for the all carbon Pinarello witha  SRM powermeter, and zipps... with the highlighted parts of the bill as it applies to cyclist.

It got a bigger laugh than my request for a hot tub by calling it a saline warmer

Look like the limit is only $20 per month

`(ii) APPLICABLE ANNUAL LIMITATION- The term `applicable annual limitation’ means, with respect to any employee for any calendar year, the product of $20 multiplied by the number of qualified bicycle commuting months during such year.

"qualified commuting months"? Does that mean I don't get paid when I HTFU in January and February and ride? I knew this bailout bill was a load of carp!
