"H" word, folks, but thought this would interest you...
Well, I have a trainer, I may be able to get something hooked to my bike and generate some electricity while I train.... Like the movie "Triplets of Belleview"... he he he....
That's my Hurricane plan B...
Anyone get some really bad weather last night (Monday?) whoa! IT was blowing like mad, raining sheets and we spent today picking up tree pieces. Big branch down on the road near here, power out in some places as indicated by cops controlling the intersections. Our basketball hoop in the front yard landed right on top of my hubby's jeep. It was wild.
Anyone use the new flashlight where you can flick a switch and it takes three different types of batteries? Considering that.
I work for the utility in JAX & don't want to think about it yet but it's rapidly coming upon us...last year I spent 12 hr shifts assisting the phone center as well as doing damage assessment in the field. Jeanne & Francis were the strongest storms this area has seen in awhile, I'm hoping we're a little better prepared this year. I just completed publication of our newsletter to commercial customers with emphasis on hurricanes & we are doing Disaster Prep seminars June thru August...time to look for that generator on Ebay...so go ahead, use the "H" word...
I am a volunteer CERT member; tomorrow evening we have a mandatory meeting regarding 2005 Hurricane Season.
I *just* saw this news item and all I could was laugh:
Tropical Storm Heads For Caribbean TAMPA - A rare tropical storm born in the far eastern Pacific Ocean is forecast to cross Central America by the weekend and emerge in the Caribbean on its way to Cuba. Late Tuesday, Tropical Storm Adrian formed near Central America heading eastward and is expected to hit near El Salvador and Honduras by the end of this week, possibly as a hurricane.
For those of you who like to get their news from the source...
