Texas Rangers auction..who do you want to win

I agree, I think both would be good, but for different reasons.  Ryan for sentimentality sake, Cuban because, come on, that guy is an AWESOME owner who actually gives a carp.  

I do know, though, that the MLB is hesitant about Cuban, because they've had owners like Marge Schott and people who got TOO involved in the day to day operations, and the MLB doesn't really approve of personalities like Cuban (See: Ozzie Guillen and Milton Bradley).  I am hoping for Cuban to get it, though, because I think he is better for the sport of baseball, as people will start talking about the MLB again. 

I agree,, Cuban had some pretty good ideas when he was interested in buying the Cubs. 
I really don't see him being an inept owner or causing a lot of trouble for the leauge.   Most of his rants in basketball were pretty early in him owning it, and he usually was right  when he was pointing out what was wrong.  that is what usually got him in trouble.  That he actually voiced his opinion

I think Cuban would be a nice change for the normally uptight baseball owners.  That said, I like what the Ryan's have done with their minor league Astros teams (RR Express/CC Hooks) and if they brought that same level of class to the Rangers it would be good for baseball.

As previously stated, I think it can be a win either way.

I wish Cuban would have got the Cubbies.   Maybe they would be closer to winning a WS.

Screw Tom Hicks.  Anyone at this point is a win to get him out of here.  That said I prefer the GnR (Greenberg and Ryan group) over Cuban for multiple reasons.  However I would not be completely upset with Cuban.  I think it would peeve a lot of casual fans to not see Ryan in there.  And a lot of people don't like Cuban just for his style.  He has stated he is a much bigger basketball fan, so not sure if he would bring that level of intensity to the Rangers or not.  One reason I want Ryan is b/c I am from Austin and hope he converts the RR Express into the Rangers AAA team next year.

Cuban's also the guy that's caused all the problems with selling the Rangers to Ryan/Greenberg.  Screw him.
