Subject: RE: Tri bike on trainer discomfort couple of things: When in a race, it would be rare for you to stay in aero position for the entire bike portion. Even if you are in Florida and in a flat course, chances are you will get out of aero if it gets somewhat crowded, sharp turns, aid stations etc. If you are racing in other parts of the country (like the northeast ), you will be out of the aero for portions of the race due to steep hills. The pros get out of aero at times too, its fine and normal. If you are in so much discomfort while in aero, get out of aero for a bit. It's not that big of deal. You will lose more time staying in a uncomfortable position while in aero vs. getting out of aero but being comfortable. Also you can try one legged drills on the trainer, which should alleviate some of the foot numbness because you will be able to move the foot that is not being used around. Alot of the discomfort is just about getting use to the position and not the saddle. |
