Subject: Former Marine to Couch Potato to Newbie TriathleteHowdy folks. I've been lurking on the site for a couple weeks now. I was the type that occasionally worked out, did some light cardio exercises. So one day I thought I would revisit an old dream of mine and that was to compete in Triathlons. So I started off about 4 weeks ago by finding this site. I did a lot of research on the free programs and decided with me being about 30 LBS overweight, I'd start with the bike. Now I have my Specialized Elite and fell instantly in love with riding. I started out riding 6 miles the first week then jumped to 12 the next week. Then I thought to myself, 'remember those plans on the site?' How about going back and following them. I'm currently following the beginner bike program, once I'm finished with that I plan on moving to one of the Sprint training programs. By the way, the 3 weeks I've had the bike along with diet change, I've dropped 10 LBS. Okay so there is my rambling dribble.
