Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Our apartment has central air and there is at least one feral cat that just has to urinate near our air intake. The smell in our bedroom is overpowering and I have been sleeping inthe spare room. There are neighbor kids and legitimate pets that I don't want to see harmed in any way. So traps, firearms, poisons, and claymores are all out of the question. Is there anything I can put down that will keep the cats away and other than an industrial size Febreeze waht will get rid of the odor? Don't even bother suggesting I speak to the landlord. |

![]() http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751025 Ssscat Automated Cat Deterrent It scares the everlovin' snot out of them but does not hurt them at all. It sprays a PFFFFT of compressed air. Unless the cat has its nose pushed against the valve, the cat won't even feel air moving, just hear the noise. I've used that to keep mine away from the bike stuff shelves. When I got a new cat, someone was spraying the bottom bike shelf. All over my booties, toe covers, gloves, etc. Oh, here's one for outdoors: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752970&f=PAD%2... To get rid of the smell there's this stuff called NATURE'S MIRACLE. It works. It's one of the few that actually works. Another spray that's okay: http://www.petco.com/product/107181/Dumb-Cat-Anti-Marking-And-Cat-S... Dumb Cat Anti-Marking & Cat Spray Remover It's good for places you cannot really scrub and remove all the stuff, it dissolves all the sticky junk in cat pee and destinks it. (edit) Oh, none of this will actually hurt a cat. Scare them, yes, but won't harm them. Edited by DanielG 2013-04-02 6:30 AM |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nature's Miracle--in the BIG industrial size. You might also try live trapping them, and taking them elsewhere (such as a rescue group or a feral neuter commuter...the neuter commuter won't necessarily remove the cat, but it might cut down on the spraying and territory issue, as well as...well, stopping it from making more feral cats) |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My sister uses a sprinkler attached to a motion sensor to chase away larger animals, deer mainly. When they get too close it goes off for a short blast and effectively chases them away. |

I live in a rather large complex I don't want to tick off the other neighbors. Thank you for the suggestion about the Natures miracle. |
