Rx sunglasses

Yep, I've been dealing with this too as I like to see things, both close and far, in focus. Rudy makes wind visors but unsure they are bifocal. I have a friend who has a pair of Oakley shades that are wrap around but also only for distance. Also, both of these options are pretty pricey. My option is to order some sunglasses from Zenni, can get progressives for <$50. Not fancy wrap arounds but things are not fuzzy.

You can get Oakleys with progressive lenses and also to handle astigmatism (half jacket is the one I have).  Check glasses.com or framesdirect.com.  I don't know specific frame options for women though -- you'll have to take a look.

They will also do the progressive lens specifically for cycling, if you tell them.

You'll have to click on each one and check if the progressive option is available.  Some of the ones with a heavy curve like the Radarlock can't do it.  And yeah it's Oakley so it will not be cheap but if you wear progressives you are probably expecting that already

I wear Nikes with some pretty big lenses...not wrap-arounds, but they do well for biking and running. I have progressive lenses in them.

I'm going to try a pair from Zenni Optical. It appears with their sport glasses that they have some sort of removabe insert/lens for your prescription. Kind of like reverse clip ons? If you look close you can see them in the images.

For $30, it's worth a shot. I get all my glasses there. Some as low as $12!!!! I'll buy 3 pairs and not even worry if I lose a pair or break a pair. My Seco d favorite pair of glasses came from there... $260 cheaper than my favorite pair...and almost as good.

If I do it....I'll let you know how it goes.
I can live easily enough with my glasses. Other than driving at night (thanks astigmatism) I can function pretty well.

It depends on the correction whether or not you can get wrap-around lenses.  I have a high correction -5.25 and got a Ray-Ban frame that was supposed to be ok with this correction. I was not happy with the acuity of my vision.  I just went back to flatter frames (look like aviator glasses.)  They work better for me.  I have some astigmatism and significant progressive bifocal correction.  +2.25.

Your optician will tell you if you can get wraparound lenses with your prescription.

Alas, none of their "sport frames" can account for bifocal or progressive.

Astigmatism is fine because they use the inserts.
Not sure why they couldn't do a progressive too, but it says it's not available on any of them.

I bought a pair of those glasses, found the lenses to be placed too close to my eyes for comfort. YMMV

I bought a pair of Kaenon a few years ago and won't go back to anything else. I have a complicated prescription and they handled a wrap around with no problem (other than price). There was zero distortion. They were pricey bu lasted me three years and I wear them a lot. Just got a second pair.

No idea if it true but my eye doctor told me Oakley outsources their wrap Rx lenses where Kaenon maes their own. They we cheaper than Oakley BTW.

Thanks all, can see that if it's possible to get, they will be expensive. Feeling guilty about the money I've been spending (got a new bike etc) so... bought a pair of polarized sunglasses that fit over reg. glasses. My daughter couldn't stop laughing - said I looked like an old person after eye surgery.

Never mind, should do the job.
