Sounds like a great event. I just got back form a similar charity ride (Toronto to Montreal) and it was an amazing experience. Enjoy it!

Cold water. Apparently it was 56 F and the junior elites all had purple lips

really? I didn't know that they would cancel the swim portion because of cold water in the summer? Isn't that the reason most people wear wet suits?

56F is 13C - that's pretty damn cold water though. That'll take your breath away wetsuit or not!
