cuppa Joe rant.....or why Dunkin Donuts SUCKS

this forum is perfectly named for my rant.  My daughter gave me a Dunkin Donuts gift card with $15 on it.  Do you think I've been able to use it?  No.  The coffee Gods are making this waaaay harder than it has to be.  I tried to use it twice in NH the other day, no go, card just will not work.  The first one I paid for, the second time they said, here, just take it, sorry 'bout that.

Today I run out for a jo and the DD clerk gives me a hard time.  "There's nothing on the card, it says so here."  I called the # yesterday and it says there is $15.  (Believe me, I did think there was a chance my kid gave me a card with nothing on it.)  She gets the manager who proceeds to tell me the same thing.  But then she punches in the number, and whoaaaaa.....there's fifteen dollars on it!  So she deducts the 1.67 for coffee from it and I ask her why her staff is so quick to tell me there's nothing on it when I know, and can prove that there is.  I get the evil eye from her and a receipt.  "You must have destroyed the magnetic strip" she tells me.  Ok, the card has sat in the car since last friday night, so how'd I do that?    Can you exchange it for a card that works? I ask her.  Nope.

So I get home with my jo, (finally) and call the phone # on the back of the card, where it says FOR REDEMPTION.  After being on hold for 10 minutes, it disconnects me saying they are unable to take this call now.  OY

So that's what I get for venturing out of the house today, when I should have been right here, writing my last paper or studying for tomorrow's final.  What an idiot I am thinking that a cup of coffee would be nice to go along with the books.
