Has anybody tried the Speedo Air Seal Goggles?

Im in the hunt for a pair of goggles and I feel like there is no great information out there on product reviews. It all seems hit or miss. It may fit your face. It may not. It may leak. It may not. It may fog. It may not. You get the idea. I found one positive review on these and thought "those sound good" then thought the person who wrote it could have been from the manufacturer. Im on the information superhighway and can find no GOOD information on any of these.

Add to your confusion whether to get the traditional goggles we usually use in the pool or the triathlon goggles which cover a bit more of your face and many triathletes love them, and whether to get prescription lenses!!! Just to through in a few more considerations........

Yes, thank you for adding to my madness!! I think for now I'm going to stick with the traditional goggles. As far as prescriptions go I'm nearsighted (My vision begins to deteriorate after about 10 feet and gets progressively worse) so I'm not sure how much of a factor that is. To date I've thought it more a nuisance than anything. Can I get prescriptions put in any goggle I buy or do I need to purchase a special type?

I bought a pair of spalding goggles at a sunglass shop in Japan of all places. They have changable perscription goggle parts. They just checked my glasses and told me which two were closest to my perscription. Then you just change out the plastic part, put on the rubber gasket and good to go. They were 25-30 dollars, something like that. It's nice to be able to read the clock at the pool or spot your bike in the transition area or to check out that pretty girl walking by. I really like 'em.

Soupaman,

I picked up a pair of goggles in close to my perscription at Galyon's.  They are Speedo brand.   The lenses are not changeable but they had a rack with a pretty good selection of corrections.  Being able to see in the pool was a real novelty for a while.

Don't have speedo goggles, but I love my TYR racetech goggles. I wear my contacts under them and have yet to have any problems. Then again, noone has kicked me in the head either.

I love my speedo gcg goggles, they come with 3 different nose spacers to fit your face. Also the vanquisher plus is amost the same as the gcg, but has more of a rubber eye socket piece, while the gcg has a small foam one.

Ditto on wearing the contacts. I'm one of those people who can't get a pair of goggles to stay on right without leaking. I use a Cressi Galileo swim mask. Yes, it's a bit bigger but I really like not having water in my eyes. The Seal mask will most likely be my next purchase.

My Speedo's were okay, but I kept having to adjust them all the time; I never did get a proper fit from them. But, I lost them some time ago and had to get a new pair so I bought a pair of TYR Technoflex 2.0. They are slightly wider than the old Speedo's, bit my eyes better, and best of all, do not allow any water in!!! Eureka! I love them.... and I paid half the price of my Speedo's...18CND...that's about five cents in American money.

I thought I'd have a bit of trouble picking out some good goggles, but it turns out my eyes are close enough together to necessitate wearing junior goggles. I'm wearing Tyr goggles and they're okay. It doesn't look like I have any other choice, though.

I have gone through 4 pairs of goggles. I have finally found a pair that work. I did it by (at the store) pressing every possible pair of goggles to my face and seeing which ones stayed suctioned to my face. This assures the fit to your eye socket (everyone’s sockets are different). The only thing I would recommend would be not to go with any goggles with a cushion seal.
