New to site not to sport

Welcome to BT!  Sounds like you've got lots of experience in tri's!  Very cool!   Have an great season!

Having found out my chiro moved to Boulder,,,and having just bought a mt bike and a set of Corima wheels from there as well...Boulder is sounding like somewhere I want to move to. Now I get this friendly greeting...does it get any better? Thanks for the season wishes..had one of my best seasons ever last summer (22races in 20 weeks) so it will be hard to top..but I'll give it a go (hope I get healthy in time)

Crazy? Not completely. But 2yrs ago I got hurt at work and doctors were pretty certain I wasn't going to be doing triathlons again any time soon and that sent shock waves through me. After 17yrs of racing it dawned on me that I had really taken for granted the gift of good health and relative physical ability. I told myself that if I was allowed to race again I'd take every chance I could to do so. The year after getting hurt I was given the green light and snuck in 18 races in 20 weeks and although it left me spent at the end of the season I felt great. Did some light workouts over the following winter to keep fresh and let the bod recover then came out swinging again last year. Think I may have over done it a bit with 22 so I'm really backing off (only 13 scheduled) and adding in some relays so I can be a bit more tri social instead. I love this sport way too much to ever want to give it up...and the only way I'm going out is when they pry the race number from my cold dead hands. I hope you never get hurt bad enough to make you appreciate what we do. For me..that is what it took.

Another TNO long time regular stretching his wings (or, gently shoved out of the nest - so to speak)... same here... there are a hand full of others old time TNO birds of a feather roosting in a new tree (...gotta keep the bird analogy going :-) )...

I was one of the few rare ones to dodge the axe but in an act of solidarity I decided to move on uncontested. It got very dark very fast in there and the very life was sucked from the forum..unbelieveable change in a day. Seems reinstatements came fast and furious recently but I don't think it will be enough to compensate for the initial betrayal. Most are going to be wary of another angry bootfest and just stay away. A shame too since most of the regs are what gave the forum its life. Thankfully we/they have other places to flock (and you thought I was going to lose the bird theme) to. Hopefully they don't fall off the forum face of the planet and go the way of the Dodo. Good to see you again man. Care for some Niger seed or a cuttlebone?

"I was one of the few rare ones to dodge the axe..." - Me too, but don't know how... very sad indeed, it was surreal to watch a successful site begin a melt down in only a matter of days.

If a lesson is to be learned by any moderator, it would be to use Hazen at TNO as the poster child of how NOT to try and make radical changes to a site and apply and enforce rules (if you call them that) in a haphazard and very unpredicable fashion.

Only time will tell as to what extent the damage has really been done... but, for now it seems H's doing a lot of backtracking. I'm not sure that once you rip the heart out of something that the same creature can be brought back to life... ah well... I plan on visiting TNO and evaluating the carcus every now and then... for now, I'm still an e-gypsy of sorts.

BTW, I choose cuttlebone... it's sounds better than a Niger seed. :-)
