Parents Wedding Anniversary

Champion  6999      Chicago, Illinois |  Subject: Parents Wedding AnniversaryDoes anyone else buy presents and dinner for there parents wedding annivesary? It seems to have started several years ago with my family and not exactly sure why. Maybe we did something nice for there 20th and never stopped. Is this a normal thing to do? |

It wasn't a big anniversary numbers-wise (33), but we figured that since the youngest of us just went off to college, it'd be nice to send them for a weekend away--especially since in the 26 years since I was born, the number of times they've gone away for the weekend can probably be counted on one hand. |

It was their 40th, and I wasn't able to pull anything special together for them. Of course, it was when they were preparing for Gustav, so they really weren't in a position to celebrate anyway. They were too busy stockpiling water and boarding up their windows. |

You're saying that on THEIR anniversary, the "gift" they received is the option of taking YOUR children so that you and your husband can go out one night? That just doesn't seem fair.  |
