Does anyone know if the new store in Elgin is open. I have been hearing rumors that it was going to reopen this summer but can't find anything online or in the phone book.

That is the rumor that I've heard as well.  Have not confirmed it yet.

I did see Bill ( the original MB owner ) at Rockman, and he was very busy doing stuff, helping people out.

Didn't get a chance to ask him about the shop and what the inside scoop was though.

I know the one on Randolph is open.  I walked by it last week when heading to dinner.  You can always come into the city if needed.

Yeah, I think it changed. However, the sign out front still says Mission Bay though.  They had some nice bikes in the window when I peaked in.

Just went by the old Elgin store and there was nothing there. I guess it's over.

The arlington store won't tell you much.  That one was never planned to reopen.

Of the three stores:

Chicago - Reopening under 'MOX' or other name, by one of the employees who worked there under MB.

Arlington Heights - No plans to repopen

Elgin - Rumor was that Bill ( original owner ) was trying to get this property back and reopen it ( either as MB or not ).

The website was tied to the failed business, not to one of the two stores that were supposed to be reopening.

I wouldn't read too much into it being down, other than someone stopped paying the bill for the site hosting and/or the domain registration expired.

I was just there last week to get my new cassette. They were open then so as Core said it's probably a technical thing.

I live across the street from the old Mission Bay, which is now Mox Appeal, on Randolph in Chicago.  When I asked one of the employees he said that they bought the store from the previous owner and were only in that location.  I am not sure if they plan on opening other locations, but they have no real connection with the previous owner.

They do have some pretty good deals on wetsuits and tri clothes.  If you are looking for a bike, check out Village Cycle Sport in Arlington Heights has some great deals on this years and last years models for very cheap.  Ask for Vince.

Hope this helps.
