First Tri this Sunday 7/12.  500/20k/5k

I have a wetsuit, goggles, Tri shorts/shirt, racebelt, bike, helmet, shoes, towel, bag, H20 bottle, pump, tube, tire changing tool/allen wrench set.

Anything essential missing?

Spare goggles, spare shoes laces, extra water bottle, motrin, nutrition items, hat, sunglasses, body glide. But I'm OCD.

tHANKS,  I have practiced and trained and now ready for racing,  I will get another pair of goggles, I need to get some spray lube for getting on/off wetsuit.  WD-40 OK?

Does anyone use lace locks?  Any good?

I wouldn't.  I used to use cooking spray (canola oil).  Someone told me it was bad for the wetsuit, so now I use baby powder.  It dissolves during the swim but lets you get it on nice and easy.  Body glide is best I think, but I'm still new so I'm not positive.

Click on "Race Log" near the top of any page on this site.  Then there is an option for "Race Day Checklist".  You don't need everything on the list, but it will make you think about pretty much everything that you could need.  I run through that every race just to make sure I don't forget anything.

Body Glide!  I've used antiperspirant before too, but that may have petrol products, so it shouldnt be used.   I used BG the last two races and works like a charm.

X2 on sunglasses and socks

Also, I have a patchkit and CO2 inflators in addition to my pump.

And dont forget to have fun.

Do a pre-race mental check by watching your favorite tri tape; it's all for fun in the sun!
