Subject: Ultra-running World recordCopied this from an email from VA Happy Trails Running Club: Just in case you had not seen this: Yiannis KOUROS now 49 years old, set the world record for the 6 day race, running an amazing 648 miles!
For you math guys out there that is a steady 13min 20sec miles for 144 straight hours. or 4.5mph. So he ran 6 repeated 22:13 - 100 milers......plus! He reportedly slept for 3 hours in those 6 days.
Geez what a wimp...3 hours of sleep.
He did this the last week of November in Australia then flew to Texas for Sunmart. Where he ran a pedestrian 7 hour something.
Amazing
I can't imagine only getting 3 hours sleep in 6 days, let alone running a century a day while doing it. |
