I can see someone being overweight in prison, not great food choices, limited activity (maybe) but how does someone get to be (and stay) 200 pounds overweight in prison? 3 squares a day, not 3 buffet's a day?

According to Wikipedia:
"The firing squad is also available for three death row inmates who chose it prior to that option's elimination in 2004".

I say bring it back then for this case if they are so worried.

I'm sick just reading that.

I've grown to where I am against the Death Penalty (no, I won't hijack the thread) but it's amazing to me that this guy seems to have a plan to get out of it.

I particularly get creeped out by the mention that due to his condition, the execution could be psychologically damaging to him. Uh, isn't getting executed kinda psychologically damaging as is?

Oh, he's too fat to inject? Well then why don't they just shoot him in the back of the head twice like he did his innocent victim? Sorry, did I say that out loud?

Fry that fat bastard. Who gives a sh$^ if he suffers a little. The hotel clerk he shot and killed probably suffered quite a bit.

There are ways to get the IV in the body, even if he is overweight.  It may take time to get it done, but oh well.....   That or do the firing squad execution.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this story the other day. I am against the death penalty so won't even get into that side of it, but how does a guy get to be almost 500lbs while in prison?

I say let's just feed him McDonald's six times a day and let him fulfill his sentence like Mr. Creosote in Monty Python's meaning of life... with a "wafer-thin mint".

I am against the dealth penalty.  Some people don't realize that spending your natural life, 23 hours a day, in this room, is far more punishing and destructive than execution.  Isolation in this supermax box is soul-crushing.

With that said -His argument is against lethal injection and varying by state, there are other means that may still be legal on the books.

Should we post a thread about Capital/Corporal Punishment?  Has that been done on COJ before?
