Today on their Facebook page FLO announced they are working on a 30mm deep toroidal shaped all AL wheel.  They sound very similar (to me) to a Zipp 101.  In the comments they mentioned shooting for under 1600 grams at $499 price.

I'm pretty excited about this one.  The Zipp 101s seemed like a great all around wheel except for the $1500 price point.  If they can hit their weight and price targets I'll be in the first wave of orders...again!

I'm more interested in knowing when they'll be getting more of the ceramic clyde discs.... I missed out on them and would really like one.

Sounds good.  Always wanted the Zipp 202's for climbing (32mm and 1375g) but absolutely too expensive.

We are pretty excited about the new wheel too!  We are working on a more thorough write-up of what we anticipate and hope to have it on our blog in the next week or two.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Take care,

Since you don't have to deal with a carbon piece, will this one have a PowerTap option?

That is definitely the plan.  We had a meeting with Saris/Powertap at Interbike and are working towards incorporating their meters into our wheels.

Take care,

Any more details on an eta? I'm working on getting a new tri bike built up and wheels like these would be fantastic training hoops for sure.
