Subject: Obama ends Viet Nam war.

Since we are giving him so much credit for doing things he didn't, I figured we might as well give that one to him to.

Could SOMEBODY, anybody, PLEASE explain to me how Obama ended the Iraq war??? Now I have to hear it from Colin Powel... "he ended one war, and is getting us out of another..." WHAT???

Bush ended the Iraq war before leaving office by setting a withdrawal time line. Obama followed the withdrawal... of two years... to the letter. Obama promised to end both wars... and he was going to use the money for better stuff.

Obama ESCALATED the war in Afghanistan... took a play right from Bush's playbook and did a "surge". There are more troops in Afghanistan today, that there were 4 YEARS AGO!!! $ years he had to end the Afghanistan war and he did not.

How in the H-E double tooth picks does he get to put both of those in the win column!!!

.... And YES... Gitmo is STILL open.

Since when is political campaigning about truth from either side?

Obama followed through with the siged agreement Bush had in place, so no, Obama shouldn't get credit for "ending the war in Iraq".  And the Republican "hawks" blasted him for ending it based on the timeline in the agreement.  As if it was his idea when to tell insurgents to fire back up again.

Besides the increase in troops in Afghanistan, Obama is actually the most hawkish "drone strike killer President" ever, so no, he wouldn't be considered a "peace-loving liberal" either.  Although the Republicans try to portray him as soft on terror and anti-military.

Obama tried to close Gitmo, but the Republicans in Congress would have not part of it.  Although we have federal supermax prisons in this country sitting empty with unemployed, trained, guards and staff just waiting for a job.

So it's simply politics as usual, lies all around, and neither party portrays anything 100% accurately.

Could you provide a source on this?

Corrected above.  You're right (not just Repbulicans - in fact, 90-6 vote), and I'm right (he tried and failed).  So this might be considered a Republican victory, but it was clearly an Obama failure:

Looks like some of that bipartisan agreement on a policy that made sense, like what you say you've been looking for.

But, but, he won the Nobel Peace Prize....
