Memorial Day weekend

Your friend is obviously a fungi....

Only fun thing I did this weekend was go to Top Golf with my son and daughter to hit some balls.....and have an over-priced lunch there.

Yeah.....looks like I'm gonna have to kill a deer this year to pay him back.

You know.....one of my neighbors has a peacock that I have hated for years.  That sucker squawks at all hours. 

I never knew you could eat them....I might feel completely different about that bird giving his location away if I get hungry one night.

Reminds me of a joke.....

Man is in court on charges of killing a California condor. The judge asked him why he killed it. The man said, "Well judge, I've been down on my luck. I can't find work and I'm broke and was just trying to feed my family." The judge said, "I can't fault a man for trying to feed his family. Case dismissed. We're still trying to determine who owns all the ones around here. Best we can tell there are at least 3 in the immediate area. This fellow decided to come see how our chickens were doing yesterday. All was well until Daisy came to check on her chickens…. Did you guys know they can fly? One of those 'wish I had my video camera' moments. She chased him around the yard until he hit V1 and launched. I've never seen a bird that size fly; at least not that close up. Pretty impressive sight and sound. All those feathers made a whooshing sound. It wasn't just a little wing assisted bounce, he actually flew around the yard until he found a tree that suited him to land in.

One of the hens visited our chickens last week and she was not impressed or concerned with Daisy. I had to physically grab her and toss her over the fence to get her to leave. This pic is when she first showed up. She kind of sat on the fence, evaluated the dog for a bit and then jumped to the ground. Daisy pretty well lost her sh** because no amount of barking rattled the bird. She took a run at it with teeth, but the bird stood her ground and fought back. They reached a stalemate and just walked circles around each other until I was able to grab the bird and toss her over the fence.
