Subject: DAMMIT I HATE MOVING
After I got home from my swim last night got notice in the mail that our landlord wants us out 4/1.  Like I need this stress right now.  Been in this house almost 7 years, it's our home.   We've been great tenants. least she could have made a phone call.....

SO now what... Buy?  In LA?  Prices are ridiculous.   Find another rental?  That we like?  With decent rent?  ANd then pack our life up?   AAAARGGGGGGGGHHHHHH

Swing from sad to pissed to stressed.....  to a little excited, maybe we find a better place.... but the excitement soon gets overwhelmed

I will REALLY need to concentrate on working out.  When I stress, I get sick, I eat, I lay on the couch........

Anyway.... thanks for listening

Chris

mooving sucks!!!!!!!

We have only just bought a house ourselves......but not in a big city though.

We have bought a duplex (in Australai that is a house split in two) and have rented out the other side.....it helps to pay for the morgatage.

my total sympathies go out to you and yours as this is a shitty thing to have happen just before the weekend!!

That's too bad. Hang in there.

Word of advice from someone who has moved many times...
When moving day comes, the FIRST thing you do is unpack and set up the bed. After a day of moving, the last thing you want to do is crash on the floor b/c you're too exhausted to make the bed.

Good luck house hunting!

Sorry to hear that bud. I tell ya what... Take some of that frustration out in your race on Sunday Nice to see that you have sooo much time to make a choice too - and handled it with the tact of a porcupine.

Good luck finding a new place. I know it's stressful to move - we've moved 4 times in 5 years (army life). Hopefully you'll find something wonderful and will be just as happy in the new as you are in the old.

There is a saying in hebrew "when one door closes, several others open". I wish you many open doors; if you choose to rent your new landlord will be superlucky finding tenants that stay put for seven years is a g-dsend. If you buy more power to you. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years back and I wound up buying. For me it was the right choice. No one can tell me what to do or not do; either way all the best to you.

well, reviving this thread because now I am moving now. .... jobs are taking us to Winnemucca Nevada - huge lifestyle change from downtown Denver.... So, we box and box and paint and etc....

And Catwoman is looking out for us, sending a minion to help (she has paint on her paws, and climbs every tall stack of boxes she can).

I hear ya Mary...good thing you know where you're going though! I'm packing my stuff up this week and putting it all in storage. All I know is I'll be in England for 30 days, back to Texas for 30 days...then who knows where! How do I pack for that?

good luck packing!

That stinks..

We are renting our house out in Austin, Texas right now as we rent a house in Seattle, WA.  I can tell you neither are really fun.

We had that house built in Austin for us.. Love it. Now someone is living in it..

The house in Seattle, older, colder and missing alot of room..

Anyway.. Find a postitive out of it. You will find a better place for a better price..
